Virtual Tastings
IWFS VIRTUAL TASTINGS
As an additional benefit to our members, IWFS Americas works with wine and spirits experts around the world to create exclusive tasting kits and to lead online presentations and tastings. These sessions may focus on a specific producer, a type of beverage, or a specific geographic region. No purchase is necessary, and everyone can participate. These tastings are very educational and entertaining even if the tasting kits are unavailable in your area. We hope you - and your friends - can join us at an upcoming event. Please check the schedule below, and also enjoy the recordings of past tastings.

Dear IWFS Member,
The next International Wine & Food Society Virtual Tasting will explore “Unsung Bordeaux Vintages.” On Thursday, September 19, at 5pm pt/8pm et, we will be joined by two expert speakers – Guillaume Vialle, National Sales Director of Twins Bordeaux, a major négociant based in Bruges, France, and JT Robertson, General Manager of New York City’s boutique wine shop Le Du Wines.
Many of us find it easy to fall in love with Bordeaux. Some of the greatest wines in the world are made there. Bordeaux is unique in its ability to offer aged wine at a range of price points. There are great values to be found, just as there are top-of-the-market wines with aristocratic pedigrees and lofty prices.
But there is also hype around certain vintages in Bordeaux, causing prices to soar based upon a few people tasting young wine out of barrel. We’ve lost track of how many “Vintages of the Century” we’ve had thus far.
Here’s the rub…there are over 8,000 small growers in Bordeaux, and the quality of the wine from the region has never been better. Dialing into the less-hyped vintages of Bordeaux is a great way to explore the area and find hidden gems.
Our tasting package highlights four vintages that our speakers feel have been overlooked, for reasons that have nothing to do with the quality of the wine produced. Our speakers will dive into the individual character of each vintage while also providing an overview of the region, details of the wines, and the current state of Bordeaux overall.
The wines are:
- 2006 Château Peyrabon Haut-Médoc
- 2012 Château du Tertre Margaux
- 2014 Château Branaire Ducru Saint-Julien
- 2016 Château Peyrabon Haut-Médoc
The price for these four wines, including shipping and tax, is $200. To order, please click here.
All orders must be placed by Monday, September 9, to ensure timely delivery. Of course, no purchase is necessary to participate in the tasting.
