Since its inception, one of the primary goals of the International Wine & Food Society has been the awarding of superior efforts by restaurants. The recipient of an IWFS Certificate of Appreciation (shown here) is recognized by IWFS members and others in the community as a venue of distinction. The exhibition of the Certificate is a sign to the public that this restaurant is a cut above others in their culinary capabilities. The venue may also choose to use this recognition on their website, announcing that they have acheived a level of distinction.
When a superior dinner occurs, the branch may chronical the event to all members in a Branch Proceeding Report in our quarterly publication Wine, Food & Friends (shown here). Branches will frequently list the restaurant in the "Recommendations" section of the IWFS website. These recommendations can be viewed by all IWFS members and are frequently consulted as members travel throughout the country.
