Theme IWFS Victoria André Simon Black Tie Dinner
Venue Matteo's
Date Aug 15, 2017

Dear IWFS Victoria Members,

André Simon Dinner at Matteo’s restaurant – Tuesday August 15, 2017

August brings our most eagerly awaited function of the year, the André Simon ‘Seven’ Dinner, celebrating our founder and the anniversary of our Branch. For this most important event we go all out to marry the best food that Melbourne has to offer with top wines from top ‘sevens’ vintages, from our cellar. Please click here for the invitation.

For this occasion, we are showcasing a Melbourne icon, Matteo’s Restaurant. For over 20 years Matteo Pignatelli has played the consummate host, guiding his eponymously named two-hatted restaurant from strength to strength while always maintaining exacting standards and evolving the restaurant when required to keep it new and exciting.

In 2016 Matteo ushered in such an evolution, bringing on-board new head chef Buddha Lo to rapturous critical acclaim. Now as Matteo’s head chef, he has replaced the broad French-Japanese influences of the past with a keener more central Asian flavour. Our recent trial dinner confirmed both Lo’s talent and the glowing reviews from some of Australia’s most respected critics.

As it’s our André Simon dinner it’s your chance to don black tie, soak up the atmosphere and delight in some truly special wines. We hope that you can join us as we expect the night together with the food and wine to follow in the tradition of our great ‘Seven’ dinners.  As with all our Andre Simon dinners please book early as we expect this function to be very popular.

Do let me know as soon as you can if you wish to attend.

Warmly

Yvonne
