2017 Weekend Get-Away:  Friday June 30 – Sunday July 2

A mere 60 minutes' drive from Melbourne, this year’s ‘Get-Away Weekend’ takes us on an epicurean adventure to the sensational Bellarine Peninsula.  Here, we’ll combine visits to some of the country’s finest restaurants, wineries, providores and hidden coastal gems which make the Bellarine such an exciting gourmet destination with some very special wines that can only be accessed as a small group.

Highlights include:

  • Optional Thursday evening dinner at Brae (3 hat) or Igni (2 hat), two of Australia’s best restaurants, delivering upscale and contemporary dining at its finest*;
  • Friday evening dinner at Tulip, where chef Graham Jefferies sets the tone for our weekend with a relaxed but contemporary opening night dinner;
  • Saturday morning Bellarine taste trail, with special access to Scotchman’s Hill, farmgate producers and local providores;
  • Saturday lunch, bought to us by chefs Hamish Hames and Scott Marshall of Piknik, who will pair local and seasonal produce with some of the best wines of the region;
  • Saturday night dinner at Gladioli, recognised as one of country Victoria’s finest regional dining experiences. As the highlight of the weekend, celebrated chef Matt Dempsey, will create a culinary experience to perfectly match a range of old world wine treasures;
  • Sunday morning tutored wine tasting followed by a gorgeous winter luncheon at Austin’s, 2016 winner of Gourmet Traveller’s best ‘cellar door experience’.

*For those members interested in extending their weekend, we have made (limited) bookings at each of Brae and Igni. These restaurants were unable to accommodate a group of our size through the main program, but are able to accept smaller groups on Thursday 30 June.

Please see the flyer for more details.
