Dear Fellow Members,
Our September function will be a Japanese BYOB at Sugi. Many of you are surely familiar with Sugi. Despite the profusion of Japanese restaurants in Manila, Sugi remains a beloved favorite of many and has been so for several decades now. This will be a BYOB so we invite you to bring your favorite sake and/or wine to pair with the Kaiseki menu prepared for you. We will be providing some bottles of sake as well.

Hokkaido Oyster
Assorted Sashimi: Chutoro, Hamachi and Scallop
Gindara Nitsuke: Gindara slow stewed in gingered sauce and spices
Kushi Age Moriwase: Shrimp and Leek, and Bacon Wrapped asparagus
Chawan Mushi with imported Japanese Uni
Wagyu A4 Teppanyaki
Temari Sushi: Tuna, Tai and Salmon
Miso Soup with Clam
Dessert (anmitsu)

Deadline: Reservations and cancellations should be in by 12 Noon, Monday, September 22, 2025. Reservations made and not cancelled by the deadline must be paid.
Reservations: Please make your reservations with Alda Navarro at internationalwine.foodsociety@gmail.com. Please note that there is a minimum of 12 pax for this function. If we do not get the minimum of 12 pax by the deadline, this function will be cancelled and a notice to that effect will be sent.
Payment: Please make your cheques payable to any of the 3 named individuals below:

Do not hand any payments to the individuals named above to avoid the inadvertent mixing of personal and Society funds. We regret that at this time, Alda is unable to accept checks as she is not in Manila regularly. We encourage everyone to please make your payments before the function to avoid any misunderstandings.
