Crus of the Rhône Valley

Café Lyon

366 Pacific Highway, Lindfield 2070

26th February 2026, 6:30PM

The Committee of the New South Wales branch of the International Wine & Food Society is delighted to invite you to our first Branch Dinner of the year themed around the Crus of the Rhône Valley, hosted by Mr Asa Joseph, at Café Lyon.

About Café Lyon, the Food, and the Wine:

Café Lyon, with its classic French bistro charm and relaxed yet polished atmosphere, will welcome us for an evening that brings a touch of France to Sydney’s North Shore. Known for high‑quality cooking rooted in traditional technique, the kitchen will offer a three‑course menu with guests free to choose their dishes on the night — an ideal backdrop for exploring the breadth of Rhône Valley wines.

Our theme, Crus of the Rhône Valley, will guide us through the remarkable diversity of this historic region. Spanning centuries of winemaking along one of France’s oldest trade routes, the Rhône is shaped by dramatic landscapes, ancient villages, and a long tradition of distinctive, terroir‑driven wines.

Across the evening, we’ll compare wines from both the north and the south, including some of the Rhône’s finest vineyards, highlighting contrasts in grape varieties, terroir, and winemaking traditions.
