This dinner event, conceived by Guy Benrubi, featured dishes from Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece & Spain (PIIGS). The idea for this event sprang from a conversation about the world economy and the Euro zone countries which were facing default - and possibly "sweetening" their plight. Tim Baird, wine chair, had desired to try a dinner with a progression of less dry wines to ultimately a Sauterne for dessert. Hence, The Sweet PIIGS!
During the course of the evening we sampled Chef Matthew Medure's interpretations of 7 courses with elements from these countries. We also sampled 10 wines, three of which have received mid nineties ratings from Wine Spectator.

True to form for dinner concepts by Guy & Tim, it was another fun and unique evening and a sold out event.
