EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Fellow Members,
We had a dazzling treat for our season finale and event number 379, a singularly crafted soirée of ‘Restauration’, as the restauranteurs described their creation on South Beach. We celebrated with wines from the Old Continent, as well as from the Republic of California, and an exquisite sea and land menu with beautifully unique flavors, starting with beef tartare crostini and a gruyère over mushrooms French tarte as appetizers, accompanied by a NV Laurent Perrier Grand Siècle Champagne.
Think of walking into the Oyster Bar at Grand Central Station, add “clean fresh sourced sea food" prepared ‘Greek’ style, and you have Lobster Bar & Sea Grille, and its Chef matching masterfully the wines selected for your ultimate enjoyment for this Season Finale.
Open less than a year, it has averaged 4.8/5 in online reviews, including Zagat:
With great ambiance and lighting, we were in a private room, with an adjoining bar for the reception, and a terrace for after dinner chat, drinks (from main bar, on your own), and cigars (BYO smokes).
Beyond the Grand Siècle for the reception, we served a 2007 Reserve California Chardonnay, moved into Morey St. Denis’ most prized single vineyard, Clos de la Bussiere, from Roumier, the famed Red Burgundy producer, from superb vintage 2002, which paired perfectly with the sea bass prepared with the slightly sweet and spicy aromatic sauce followed by two Napa Reds from historic Chateau Montelena, the 2001 and 1978 Estate Cabernets, for the unique lightly crispy fried lobster tail and sizzling steak course, and finally we savored the 1978 with the great Chocolate Cake and Cheeses. We all enjoyed hosting and partaking in this dinner with you, and this season’s finale was certainly one of the best ever.
Your Hosts,
Al, Ariel, John, and Ted.
