Long term members recall our first ITALIAN JOB stag. Our celebration of fine Italian cuisine and wine was a huge success. Our second ITALIAN JOB raised the bar for wine and food excellence. Now we return to the scene, this time in the main dining room at Caffe Vialetto to accommodate the demand.
We found great Italian reds in our cellar for Proprietor Marcello Chopa to pair with his exquisite food. We don’t think we’re cheating by enjoying Marcello’s Hors d’ Oeuvres with a French Champagne, 2004 Pierre Paillard Champagne Grand Cru Brut Millésimé, and his Braised Foie Gras with a French Sauternes, 2001 Château Doisy-Védrines. After all, Italy and France have a common border.
We cross back into Italy to pair our Braised Pork Belly with 1996 Luciano Sandrone Barolo Le Vigne Nebbiolo. Marcelo will serve the Pork Belly with Sweet Demi Glacé and Four Cheese Polenta. He will then pair our 1996 Gaja Langhe Nebbiolo Sperss Langhe DOC with Lamb Loin crusted with Expresso Coffee. Finally, our 2001 Fontodi Flaccianello della Pieve Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT Sangiovese will be served with a selection of hard cheeses.
