IWFS Victoria held their opening dinner of 2017 at the wonderful ‘Ides” restaurant.
After running a series of sold-out monthly pop-ups, Peter Gunn opened his first bricks-and-mortar restaurant Ides in March, 2016. Originally from New Zealand, Peter brings his experience from working at Ezard, Royal Mail Hotel and Attica, where he spent five years as sous chef to Ben Shewry, to his restaurant.
At Ides, the dishes were technique-heavy contemporary dishes and with the expertise of 2016 Gourmet Traveler Sommelier of Year Raffaele Mastrovincenzo working alongside Peter, the dishes worked exceptionally well with wine.
Peter opened the restaurant exclusively for IWFS and worked closely with IWFS Victoria event organisers Elizabeth Peddey and Chloe Joel. A wonderful dinner was had by all that attended.
