IWFS ROPPONGI (JAPAN)

Under the leadership of founding president Mr Akihito Tanaka, IWFS Roppongi (Japan) was founded on June 20 2013 with fifteen founding members. This marked the establishment of the third IWFS branch in Japan, each of which are located in the Tokyo area.  There are few cities with such an enviable reputation for fine food as Tokyo, which boasts a significant proportion of the world's Michelin starred restaurants.

To mark the founding of the Roppongi Branch, a very special Opening Dinner was held on Saturday July 20 2013.  On behalf of the Asia Pacific Zone of IWFS, the Vice-President of the Kuala Lumpur Branch, Tony Narisawa, flew to Tokyo to share in this celebration.  A celebratory dinner was then held in February 2014, attended by Society Chair Yvonne Wallis, several Council Members and a large contingent from Kuala Lumpur - a great party!

The branch includes some passionate wine and food enthusiasts who are keen to share and enhance their appreciation of fine food and wine.  Roppongi is a professional, dual gender chapter including members in their thirties through fifties.  It is also one of our fastest growing branches, now with 30+ members.

IWFS Roppongi meets locally 4 to 6 times a year.  Members also enjoy the opportunty of attending the various festivals offered by IWFS in the Asia Pacific Zone as well as festivals hosted by our sister zones in the Americas and Europe/Africa.

Membership is by invitation only.
