Overview

IWFS Penang (Malaysia)

The Penang branch of the International Wine and Food Society is known as the Wine & Food Society of Penang.  This branch was founded in September 1996.

Members of the Penang branch meet every 2 months at various eateries in Penang, and occasionally, in restaurants out of Penang Island. As Malaysia is a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural country, we try to organize our dinners at various restaurants with different ethnic cuisines.  Pairing the wines with these foods is both interesting and challenging.

In 2008, our branch organized a very successful Mini Festival for the Asia Pacific Zone, which coincided with the Annual General Meeting of the zone.  Held on Penang Island, it was well attended by members from various IWFS branches in APZ, as well as attracting visitors from other branches around the world.

Currently, we have more than 40 members.  If you are interested in joining our branch, please click on Contact Us.
