The Montréal Branch holds events from September to June, with an additional event in August that is usally outside of Montreal. While all events focus on wine and food (and friendship) the format of the events will vary greatly. Meals are always multi course and each plate is accompanied by a selected wine. Members take turns at meetings commenting on the wine and food pairings. Please see the Documents page for the event invites and menus.

Theme An Evening at Milos
Venue Zoom Dinner
Location Zoom Montreal
Date May 17, 2021
Registration Closed on May 17, 2021

The Costa Spilidos- Milos' story began in 1979 in Montreal, in the Plateau Mont-Royal district. With its open kitchen - an unusual feature at the time - and the stall now characteristic of all our establishments, The restaurant quickly became a sought-after address, both by Montrealers and by a growing clientele of visitors.  Milos has a reputation as one of Canada's most respected fine dining restaurants and the model to follow when it comes to the absolute freshness of Mediterranean products. His cuisine showcases the most impeccable and subtle ingredients in deliciously healthy preparations. Their are now Milos in Manhattan, Las Vegas, Miami and Greece.

This was our last Zoom dinner (fingers crossed) and a standard we will have a hard time beating. Marty and Suzanne worked with Christos to create a unique menu for our zoom dinner.  Dinners are ordered and the members deliver to the fellow members. We had 60 Members and guests participating. We started with a mixed plate of Greek spreads; Taramosalada, Tzaziki,Htipiti veggies, Pita and of course Greek Olives.  The first course salads offered a choice between a classic Greek Tomato and barrel aged Feta or Fresh Steamed Lobster salad with a touch of Greek Metaxa . The Main course was a choice of Mediterranean Sea Bream, Lobster Pasta or Goat Ribs Chops - we could only pick one. The dessert was a mixed selection of favourites; Baklava, Karydopita and Ekmek.

Our Cellar Master Earl Eichenbaum rose to the challenge and offered a choice of 2 great greek wines (each participant receives a bottle of Red or White wine) Nykteri Santorini 2018 and a red from Adam Refosco 2013 - Macedonia. Earl created a special Lemoncello for everyone to share together and toast the organizers and the drivers on Zoom.

Our next event will be to honor the Memory of Louis Villeneuve OBM,  who passed from us August 4, and who we shall all miss his guidance, his friendship, his leadership and mostly his joy for food and wine in every event for the past 10 years as President and Past President.
