Grower Champagne tasting and dinner
Perhaps a myth - "Come quickly, I am drinking the stars!" - Dom Perignon supposedly said this when tasting the first sparkling champagne.
Perhaps you heard about the FANTASTIC Bordeaux tasting in January, but missed out. Here's the next opportunity for a memorable wine and food experience. Join us for some stellar “Grower” Champagne. Grower Champagnes are obviously made in the Champagne region of France, but are produced by the same estate that owns the vineyards from which the grapes come. While large Champagne houses may use grapes sourced from as many as 80 different vineyards, Grower Champagnes tend to be more terroir focused, being sourced from single or closely located vineyards around a village. Grower Champagnes have been described as "artisnal winemaking" with terroir being at the forefront for each wine, rather than an emphasis on a consistent "house style" that can be made year after year.
The event:
(1)A focused tasting and discussion of 9-10 grower champagnes (blanc de blanc, blanc de noir, and rose).
(2) a seated presentation of three courses prepared by Chef Kris, each course accompanied by three flights of the same champagne variety.
