Dear Wine and Food Society Friends,

The holidays are upon us and we’ve planned a very special Holiday Dinner to celebrate the season together. This formal, black-tie with medallion celebration will take place on Saturday, December 10. Our venue is once again the elegant Four Seasons Hotel with entertainment provided by Virtuosi. Executive Chef Maurizio Ferrarese, who hails from the small town of Vercelli in the Piedmonte region of Italy, introduced us to his extraordinary pasta at last year’s holiday event. Currently, Maurizio continues to embrace the time-honored traditions of Italian- style cooking and has innovated his simple, ingredient-driven menu by focusing on locally sourced food. He has planned a variety of delicious and inventive food offerings, ranging from wonderful Italian traditions to a delightful down-home finale of apple fritters, vanilla gelato and A&W Root Beer. (This is not your average ice cream float!)

Our evening will begin at 6:30 pm in the Bridgeport Room with a beautiful Schramsberg Mirabelle Brut Rose. At 7:15 pm the music of the String Quartet will transport us to the Whitney Room for our five course dinner. Our wines, highly rated by Robert Parker and Wine Spectator, will be as interesting and eclectic as our menu, with the highlight of the evening being the 2006 Coho Napa Valley Red Wine Headwaters from the cellar.

The cost for our Holiday Dinner will be $165 for members and $195 for guests. For those who wish to enjoy the full Four Seasons Hotel experience, we have arranged for incredible special rates for the night (December 10) or the weekend (December 9 – 11) of $125 - $195 per night for rooms ranging from Superior King to Four Seasons Deluxe Executive Suite. You can make your reservation by calling 800-734-4114 and identifying yourself as being part of the International Wine & Food Society party. Please make your reservations as early as possible in order to ensure availability.
