Sierra Foothills Trip

Dear Houston IW&FS Members,

 

Two weekends ago, I visited the Sierra Foothills; home to the 19^th Century California Gold Rush and today, an up and coming wine growing region.  With 40 years of viticultural history, the area is now producing delicious wines at reasonable prices.  There is a wide range of varietals but Zinfandel and Barbera are the standouts.  At many of the venues, the scenery is spectacular.

 

I have done a buyout of the boutique hotel in Plymouth, a small town at the heart of the Amador County wine scene.  There is a total of 15 rooms available and a limit of 30 participants as a result.  If you are a single person, please see if you can get another person to share a room.  There are several two room suites where the couch folds out into a bed and I will reserve those rooms for folks who are sharing a room.

 

The cost of the trip, double occupancy, is $1,495 per person; this does not include airfare which is the participant’s responsibility.  The suggested flight information that I am taking is as follows as well as the itinerary:

Because of the 30 person limit, we will have a two-week period that is Members ONLY Registration.  If you and your spouse plan on attending, but your spouse is not a member, your reservation will be held until reservations open up to guests.  On Monday, February 24, 2020, we will open it up to guests if room is still available.  I’ll get a status report out the night before by email.
