Please join us Thursday, March 28, for a delicious dinner at Lucio’s. Chef-Owner John Sjoberg and his team will treat us to a seasonally crafted menu. Located at 905 Taft Street, it is just south of Allen Parkway west of downtown. Complimentary valet parking is available.

The restaurant has a comfortable yet upscale ambiance, focusing on offering a menu which incorporates the best local ingredients available each season. All the wines this evening will be from the Society’s own cellar. The evening will begin with a Champagne reception at 6:30 with dinner to follow at 7:00. The attire will be business casual.

Wine: NV Jean-Pierre Marniquet Champagne Traditional Bruet *** An estate bottled blend of 50% Pinot Meunier, 35% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Noir with reserve wine in the mix. Aged over 3 years on the yeasts in a cold, deep cellar that was originally a World War One underground hospital. Straw colored and fully sparkling. Toasty-yeasty-biscuity with lively lemony citrus and red fruit with limestone mineral earth and a hint of spice. Bear-score: 92. *** Newton Napa County Unfiltered 2010 *** Newton Estate began as a single square mile of hillside pioneered by the Newtons in 1977. Rich and seamless, with layers of crème brȗlée, baked pie, honeysuckle and tangerine. A remarkably complex and elegantly styled wine. *** EnRoute Pinot Noir Russian River Valley Les Pommiers 2014 *** EnRoute Russian River Valley Winery is prized for its lush and rolling topography and proximity to the Pacific Coast. The wine consists of a very agreeable mix of savory and dried herb, red berry and dusty earth notes, this is elegant and refined with a graceful aftertaste. *** Leviathan California 2010 *** The Leviathan wine is a red blend created afresh each vintage, sourced from some of the coveted vineyards in California. This vintage is a tight and vibrant red, with a pure, focused core of dried berry, currant and dill, expanding and gliding through the finish, where touches of dried herb and cedar reverberate.
