Dear Wine & Food Friends

It is time once again to celebrate our outgoing President Richard White’s year and the installation of our new officers at our Annual Installation Dinner.  Please join us on Thursday evening September 15, 2016, as we will have the pleasure of dining for the first time at the celebrated restaurant Amalfi Ristorante Italiano.   The Chef and Owner Giancarlo Ferrara along with his wife, Lisa, invite you to experience the tastes, aromas, and passions of their homeland right here in Houston. Chef Ferrara’s culinary experience has been years in the making. Chef Ferrara is an accomplished graduate of Centro Professionale Alberghiero in Salerno finishing first in his class and has worked as a chef all over the world. Chef Ferrara has created a menu that wets the appetite. Alison Cook says that the Insalata Amalfitana Al Profumi Di Limon on our menu provided by Chef Ferrara is “a must order”. The remaining courses are as intriguing and genuine as the first.  In the first year of operation (opened November, 2014) Amalfi Ristorante, through the talents of Giancarlo and Lisa, garnered 40th place in the 2015 Houston Chronicle 100 Best Restaurants.

Please join us for an evening of genuine Italian food and great Italian wine.

The reception with Franciacortas sparkling wine begins at 7:00 PM followed by dinner at 7:30 PM. PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE IN TIME. MOVED BACK ONE HALF HOUR. We will be outside on the patio for the reception, so hot-weather chic is the fashion for the evening.

The restaurant is located at 6100 Westheimer Road. It is in the same shopping center with the Palms Restaurant. Parking is plentiful.

The cost is $160 for members and $190 for guests.

This promises to be a wonderful evening of wine and food. We look forward to seeing you.

Salute,

Bill Bivin and Richard White
