Peripatetic Dinner at WaterColours: Thursday 16 March 2017:

The evening will start at 6.30pm with drinks and canapés in the WaterColours owners’ lounge, where you'll be told in which apartments you'll eat the different courses of dinner. You'll swap apartments between appetizer and main courses. Everyone will then re-assemble in the owners’ lounge for dessert. The evening will be great fun.

Couples can elect whether they want to remain together when being allocated a place for each course, of if they'd prefer to be separated and dine in different apartments.  Please indicate your choice when requesting tickets…..together/apart/not bothered.

This is an exceptional event, made possible only by the generosity of our WaterColours members and the good fortune of them being on the island on the same date. Inevitably, the event will be limited by the numbers that our hosts can accommodate, so please book early.  Reservations cancelled after Sunday 13 March will be charged in full.

Links to the formal invitation, menu and wine list are below.  As usual, please let Ana know when requesting tickets if you prefer a vegetarian option or have allergies.

We have chosen some higher end Californian wines to accompany dinner.  The Pierson Meyer Untitled #7 2012 is medium to full-bodied chardonnay, right in the middle of its drinking window, with notes of orange blossoms and honeysuckle, and good minerality; it is not overly oaky.  The Dominus 2007 and Hillside Select 2001 will be served side by side.  Christian Moueix’s  Dominus (rated 98 by Parker) is an elegant cabernet sauvignon base wine exhibiting a seamless integration of wood, tannin, alcohol and acidity as well as a complex bouquet of cedar, new saddle leather, sweet kirsch, black currant and plum fruit.  .  Shafer’s Hillside Select (rated 100 by Parker) is 100% cabernet sauvignon and a monumental example of an outstanding Stags Leap district wine.  Both are a bit of a baby right now, but this is a wonderful chance to try and compare two top class wines from two of Napa’s best makers .

With dessert we will offer a choice of two muscat based wines, the very highly rated Vin Constance 2007, a sauternes like wine from South Africa, and a lighter Beaume de Venise Vin Doux Naturel 2013 .
