Oh my gosh! This was an incredible dinner experience. Everything was outstanding. The food was locally sourced, organically grown, with fresh seasonal ingredients and the service was impeccable. The Kurtzer’s found a real winner and created a great menu with a fantastic chef. The wines were different. I didn’t recognize the labels or even some of the grapes, but they were perfect matches for the food.

The passed Hors D’Oeuvres were wonderful. There were various specially prepared cuts of meat called Salumi that were made locally from local farm animals served with egg toast and a locally made sparkling wine. Then there was a fantastic crab dish that was served with a pistou of yuzu, whatever that is, that tasted as good as anything I’ve ever had before. Next there was, believe it or not, an octopus dish, that I don’t think was local, that everybody thought was fantastic.

I mentioned to the folks sitting near me that I was allergic to the beets being served with the main coarse duck (which was not true), and the server heard me and brought my plate with a green vegetable instead of the beets. WOW! The dish was unbelievably good and the service was not to be believed. And then finally the dessert was mind boggling. It had a multiple variety of great tastes. It will be very difficult to have a dinner this year that tops this. The Apiary was 25 miles drive from downtown and every mile was well worth it.
