Our next gathering will be at The Priory inWareham, which is well known to us and a great favourite with many, if not all, of our members. It is three years since the Branch lunched at The Priory, and high time that we revisited this charming venue alongside the River Frome. We hope that the weather is fine for us because lunch on the Terrace is an absolute treat. In inclement weather we have to use the Cellar, and for this reason numbers are limited to a maximum of 44.
David, our Chairman, has organised a delicious sounding menu and carefully chosen the wines to match. We start with a Varichon Blanc de Blanc with all the zest of good champagne, but hardly any of the classical grapes. Moving on, the Sauvignon Blanc has enjoyed three months sur lie and is full of flavour. Finally, the Pinot Noir shows what can now be achieved in the southern hemisphere. The wines will be available throughout the meal. The menu is extensive, and please note that both the beef and the duck can be cooked to your liking.
The cost to Members is £53.00 and for Guests £56.50. Please note that, because I will be away again for a week or so, your reservations should be sent to David in this instance and not to me. The closing date is Tuesday, 10th July. Lunch at The Priory is always a very popular event so I would advise early booking.
We hope to see you there and will keep our fingers crossed for good weather.
