The Wessex Branch braved the blustery March weather to lunch at the Verveine Fishmarket & Restaurant, Milford on Sea, and were rewarded by a superb gastronomic menu, created by Chef David Wykes. All of the courses won high praise, and Members agreed whole-heartedly with the Hampshire judges who had honoured the restaurant with Best Restaurant and Best Chef (2011) accolades. Of particular note was the care with which the Sommelier, Jonathon Crouch, had selected and presented the wines with each individual course and dish. An excellent choice by the Members who had arranged the event – Brian and Diana Gray.
