Well we had a good turnout for our AGM on the 1st December and Hyn’s did us proud. The food as always was excellent washed down with, I think it was,16 bottles of Gewurztraminer made for a long lazy afternoon!

Post Christmas and snow I am now beginning to emerge for hibernation but not wanting to venture far from home I have persuaded Angelo at Ruchetta in Wokingham to put together a lunch for us. Gianni their Society award winning chef will be at the stoves and with Angelo giving a hand . Angelo is devising a menu for us but I decided to send this out straight away so you can put the date in your diary.

We held events at Ruchetta twice in 2008, the first time in March for a superb lunch then we returned in June to present them with a well earned Society Restaurant Award. Gianni is still here plying his trade and with Angelo running front of house and lending a hand in the kitchen when busy they are still producing top quality meals. This time we will start with a glass of wine as aperitif followed by a three course lunch with a glass of wine with the starter and one with the main course and coffee.

Wokingham is on the main line from Waterloo to Reading. Ruchetta is 15min walk from the station and taxis are available.

Time: 12.30pm

Dress: Smart casual

Price: £41 members, £45 guests

CANCELLATIONS

Initially by phone and then in writing, at least two week prior to the event to facilitate a refund. Refunds, less than two weeks prior, will only be given if the place can be filled All refunds will be subject to a £2 handling charge.
