Asia Pacific Jakarta

Overview

IWFS Jakarta (INDONESIA)

Under the leadership of founding president Ms Vanessa Hendriadi, IWFS Jakarta (Indonesia) was founded on July 15 2014 with nineteen founding members. This marks the establishment of the first IWFS branch in Indonesia, a great addition to the IWFS family, especially given that Jakarta is such a huge city of some 25 million people.  You should expect this branch to grow quickly.

To mark the founding of the Jakarta Branch, a very special Inaugural Dinner was held on Tuesday July 15 2014 at the beautiful Tugu Kunstkring Palais restaurant in the heart of downtown Jakarta.  On behalf of the IWFS Executive, Chairman of both the Society and of the Asia Pacific Zone, Yvonne Wallis, flew to Jakarta to share in this special celebration.  Including some sensational first growth Bordeaux, grand cru Burgundy, and tête de cuvée Champagne, it was a dinner to be long remembered.

The branch includes some young but very serious wine and food enthusiasts who are keen to share and enhance their appreciation of fine wine and food.  Jakarta is a youthful, professional, fun loving, dual gender chapter with members largely in their thirties and forties.

IWFS Jakarta will meet locally about 4 times a year.  Members can also enjoy the opportunity of attending the various festivals offered by IWFS in the Asia Pacific Zone as well as festivals in the Americas and Europe/Africa hosted by our sister zones.

Membership is by invitation only.
