ITINERARY

Day 1: Sydney . Corowa . Rutherglen . Beechworth

Depart Sydney for Corowa where you transfer to a coach
for the short drive to the Rutherglen area, where you spend
the day in and around the various wineries that make the
region famous. Late afternoon you drive south through the
Chiltern National Park to the small town of Beechworth.
Overnight is at the classic heritage La Trobe Hotel.

Day 2: Beechworth . Wangaratta . Launceston

Today you spend time in the various wineries of the
Beechworth area before re-joining the aircraft in
Wangaratta. The flight takes you overhead Melbourne before
crossing Bass Strait to the northern Tasmanian city of
Launceston.

Day 3: Launceston

The day is spent visiting some of Tasmania’s premier wineries
discovering the award-winning Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays,
Rieslings and Sauvignon Blancs from the cool-climate
vineyards of the Tamar Valley.

Day 4: Launceston . Hobart

A short flight south this morning to Tasmania’s capital;
Hobart. Here you spend time touring the sites including Mt
Wellington before returning for lunch at one of the many
restaurants in Salamanca Place in the dock yard area.
Accommodation tonight is at Lenna’s Hotel, a historic hotel
classified by the National Trust, situated at Battery Point.

Day 5: Hobart . Port Arthur . Hobart

This morning you travel through the Derwent Valley which
follows the flow of the Derwent River down its west bank to
Hobart and the sea. On a bend of the river near Granton is
Stefano Lubiana Wines one of the finest producers of
sparkling wine and Pinot Noir in Australia. The much
acclaimed Moorilla Estate pioneered by Italian immigrant
Claudio Alcorso in the 1950's produces award winning
wines and is a major supporter of the arts, hosting concerts,
exhibitions and an antiquities museum.

Day 6: Hobart . Sydney

Today you drive down the Arthur Highway to the 19th
century convict settlement where you spend time exploring
this interesting site. You return to Hobart Airport around
1500 for the return flight to Sydney.
