The Norfolk Wine and Food chapter celebrated Leap Year with a culinary event! Chef Danny Orwa created a menu which included a seven course meal which was visually captivating and spectacularly delicious! Sommelier Viki Jenkins introduced each wine pairing, providing context and understanding for why certain wines are paired with certain dishes.

Course I

Food: Dakota Seafood Lobster Tail Appetizer served with a 2022 Primosic Robolla Gialla. Moroccan Salad (delicata squash, cherry tomatoes, brisket bacon and Italian vinaigrette) paired with a Criteria Primitivo.Duck confit with parsnip puree, crimini & oyster mushrooms served with an Ottone I Barbera Piedmonte. Loup River Flat Iron steak, mashed potatoes and creamed peas paired with an Appassimento Rosso Veneto. Diver scallop with carrot puree & malossol caviar served with an Italian Soave Classico. New Zealand Wapiti Red Stag with sweet potato puree & peppercorn sause paired with a Domini Veneti Amarone della Valpolicella. Chocolate Ganache Cheesecake served with your choice of an extra dry Millesimato Prosecco and/or Bellissino Limoncello.
