Guess Where I'm From?

The final virtual wine tasting in the series was held on April 20, 2021.  Once again, Master Sommelier Rich Zellich, assisted members in exploring wines from places outside of the US and Europe in a blind tasting.  This time, however, members had the option of participating either online or in-person (in limited numbers) at The Manheim, a brand-new event space opened by Dr. McIntosh.  Our Master Sommelier explained the Blind Tasting Basics:  1) Sight – color and clarity; 2) Smell – possible fruit, herbs or spice;, 3) Taste – possible sweetness, fruitiness, saltiness, acidity, or bitterness; and 4) Conclusions – old world/new world, warm/cool climate, country, region, grape, and vintage.  The members agreed that the session was fun, informative, and worthwhile.  A lot of “new” favorites were found by all.  Again, featured wines were available for purchase by members at a special rate following the tasting.
