Overview
The Northeast Texas Branch of IW&FS Celebrated its 35th Anniversary in January 2011. The Branch Charter was granted January 16,
1976. The Branch has a membership of 80
wine and food enthusiasts . The members and their guests meet monthly to further their knowledge and
interest in good food and wine. Each
month has a different theme which is chosen
by the host and co-hosts and coordinated with the Wine Masters and the Wine Committee
to learn about and to taste different
wines and foods from around the world.
The Branch has two city-wide wine tasting fund raisers each
year, one in the spring and one in the fall, to raise money for their
scholarship fund at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Both of these events also help to increase
knowledge of Texas wines and the Texas Wine Industry. These events raise thousands of dollars each time to add to
this fund.
