Kamimura Japanese restaurant takes its name from the Chef Akira Kamimura, the owner of the restaurant. It was the first KL venue that served typical cuisine – special pork dishes, hence we had two menu options. One is non halal with all pork dishes and the other is halal with all chicken dishes to allow our Muslim members to participate. Chef Kamimura hails from a small town in Kagoshima, Japan. He has been a chef for over 35 years, and has worked in several prestigious establishments in both Singapore and Malaysia. He was chef at the Nadaman, an authentic Japanese restaurant which has over 250 years of history.

The accompanying wines were:

Felton Road Pinot Noir 2007, The 2007 Pinot Noir has a very elegant, understated nose that takes time to peek its head over the horizon. At first, simple strawberry and dark cherry fruit but there is a subtle touch of undergrowth and charcoal. The palate is medium-bodied, elegant and very harmonious with prudent, well integrated oak; silky smooth and very pure on the finish.

And

Catena Zapata Tilia Malbec 2008. For over four generations, the Catena family has grown vines in the foothills of the Andes Mountains in Mendoza, Argentina. Argentina’s Malbecs are much different from those grown in the grape’s native France; they are riper, fruitier and fresher. The Tillia Malbec exhibits great colour intensity with violet tones. Aroma of fruits and flowers, with notes of dulce de leche and vanilla and chocolate given by its ageing in oak barrels for 6 months; balanced, full-bodied and complex with typical Malbec sweetness and ripe tannins.
