OverviewThe Cayman Islands Branch of the International Wine & Food Society was chartered in 1987. Our Branch is one of 81 in the Americas, but not all Branches are alike. Each maintains its own traditions and character. However, universal goals of the Branches include:
We typically hold 6 to 8 events a year including wine dinners in local restaurants or member’s homes, cooking demonstrations and wine tastings (some of which are "tutored" by members). The Branch maintains an inventory of fine wine, nominally held in The IWFS Wine Company Ltd. (a not-for-profit company financed by redeemable shares issued to the Branch's members). Our wine buying policy is designed to allow members to enjoy a wide range of wines, with an emphasis on wines or vintages which are not normally readily available in the Cayman Islands. Membership in our Branch is by invitation only. All Branches are autonomous in terms of membership qualifications. Members usually join in October annually, and we encourage those interested in membership to come to several events as guests before joining. For details, please contact us. |
